COACHES MEETING UPDATED

Meeting will be held the the Gosnell Community Center

U6 & U8 coaches will meet Saturday, August 19th from 9:00am to 10:00am.

U11 thru U18 coaches will meet Saturday, August 19th from 10:30am to 11:30am.

ASSEMBLING YOUR TEAM: Once you receive your Team Roster, you will need to contact each player no later than August 27th. If you can’t contact a player – please call your commissioner or contact us by email or Facebook.

PRACTICE: Practice days and times are to be established by the coaching staff of each team taking into consideration the scheduling needs of each team member. Apart from inclement weather each team must conduct at least one practice per week. This is to the benefit of all team members as they develop their skills under your instruction.

GAMES: Your team should arrive at the field 10 minutes prior to their scheduled game time. Coaches are to check each player to ensure they are in the proper attire (team jersey, shin guards, appropriate foot wear, no jewelry, etc.). Now is the time to make sure jewelry can be removed for games! Coaches are to also check each goal on their field to ensure the net is properly attached and the goal is anchored. It is recommended you arrange with team parents to bring after-game drinks and snacks.

GOAL SAFETY: Please explain to your team that climbing or hanging on the goals or nets is very dangerous and is strictly prohibited. Tampering with or moving field equipment is prohibited. This is a rule that we take very seriously.

WEATHER SAFETY: When BASA board members are present (games or practice) they will determine if weather conditions require everyone to leave the fields. Coaches and parents must make that determination when BASA board members are not present during practice days. Everyone must abide by the board’s decision when told to seek shelter.

COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT

The Blytheville Area Soccer Association wants to ensure that games are fair, positive, and an enjoyable experiences for all of the children and adults involved. A soccer game should be friendly and unifying – a spirited social and athletic occasion for players, coaches, referees, and spectators.

We expect each coach to conform to this code of conduct.

  • Before, during, and after the game coaches should be an example of dignity, patience, and positive spirit.
  • Coaches should be reasonable in the demands placed on players (remember they are children). Never ridicule or yell at players for making mistakes.
  • During the game coaches are responsible for the sportsmanship of their players, parents, and spectators.
  • Coaches should, to the best of their ability, teach the players the Laws of the Game and respect for the game, players, coaches, and referees.
  • Coaches should respect the game officials at all times. Coaches should refrain from questioning decisions during the course of the game. Small issues can be discussed with the Referee calmly and patiently during a break or after the game. Major complaints may be discussed with any Board Member if the issue cannot wait. The Board Member will communicate with the Division Commissioner and a final decision will be made on the field.
  • Use of profanity or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.

Coaches who fail to abide by this Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action that may include but is not limited by the following:
